Through VET TEC 2.0, you can access training in areas like cybersecurity, cloud, and AI without using your GI Bill® benefits. The program covers tuition, housing allowance, and required materials, helping you focus entirely on developing real, job-ready skills.

What are the key differences between VET TEC 2.0 and the GI Bill®?
- VET TEC 2.0 does not use or reduce your GI Bill® entitlement.
- VET TEC 2.0 focuses on fast-track, high-impact training in technology fields, while the GI Bill® also covers traditional college degrees.
- Eligibility requirements differ, and some individuals such as active-duty members or spouses using transferred benefits may not qualify for VET TEC 2.0.
- Participants must maintain a minimum weekly training commitment to remain eligible for benefits.
- Full tuition reimbursement is tied to program completion and successful employment outcomes as defined by the VA.

Are there shared benefits between VET TEC 2.0 and the GI Bill®?
- Yes. You may receive a Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) while enrolled in VET TEC 2.0 training.
- Your GI Bill® benefits remain available for future use after completing a VET TEC 2.0 program.

Can I use VET TEC 2.0 if I already work in tech?
Yes. If you meet eligibility requirements and enroll with an approved provider, you can use VET TEC 2.0 to advance your technical skills and grow your career. The program does not exclude participants who are already working in the tech industry. All participants must still meet the VA’s “meaningful employment” requirement after completion.
Will using VET TEC 2.0 affect my GI Bill® benefits?
No. Using VET TEC 2.0 does not reduce or impact your GI Bill® benefits in any way. You retain full access to your remaining GI Bill® entitlement after completing the program.
How do I enroll in VET TEC 2.0?
- Start by submitting your application through the VA. Even if you’re unsure about eligibility, it’s recommended to apply:

Ensure your address and direct deposit details are up to date with the VA. You can update your information by emailing
VETTEC.VBABUF@va.gov
or calling (888) 442-4551. - For direct deposit updates, provide your account number, 9-digit routing number, and account type (checking or savings).
- Once enrolled, you will need to verify your training attendance on a monthly basis.
Are certification exam fees included in VET TEC 2.0?
Certification exam fees are not included. However, if you have remaining GI Bill® benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement through the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Application for Reimbursement of Licensing or Certification Test Fees (VA Form 22-0803)
